World Heritage Week observance concludes

Art and Culture Commissioner M Joy has expressed that 'renouncing the aged old tradition and culture by the youths of today has left the society in a vulnerable state'.
He made the above statement while speaking as the chief guest at the valedictory function of World Heritage Week observation held today at Kangla Hall.
The observation of World Heritage Week began from December 9, 2022 organised by the Manipur State Archaeology, Department of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur.
While maintaining that inculcation of traditional knowledge, discipline and manners begins at one's home, M Joy expressed concern over lack of such disciplined tradition among the youths of today which has become a major cause for deviation from the norms and functioning of the society.
In view of the above concern, he appealed to the parents to impart cultural and traditional knowledge to their children to preserve the sanctity of indigenous cultural heritage and tradition.
M Joy further highlighted the importance of making collective efforts to safeguard the indigenous heritage of the State so as to carry forward such legacies.
Art and Culture Director, L Kishworjit; DM College of Commerce former Principal, Dr O Kumar also graced the event as the president and guest of honour respectively.
As a part of the function, a souvenir was released and certificates were presented to the participants of the World Heritage Week.
