Trinamool political workers join JD (U)

Many political leaders and workers including former Minister T Hangkhanpao have joined Janata Dal (United) .
In a press conference held at JD (U) office at Babupara, State party President M Tombi said, former Minister T Hangkhanpao contested last Assembly election on Trinamool Congress ticket from Singhat Assembly Constituency of Churachandpur district.
He added that a 17-member team of executive members of Trinamool Congress from Chandel district have also joined JD (U) .
Saying that Seikhapao alias Paocha Haokip of Chandel district, Skhupkeng Vaiphei of Senapati district and Sengam Haokip of Sadar Hills have joined JD (U), Tombi said that a reception function would be held to welcome the new members on September 22 .
Regarding border fencing, Tombi said that it is condemnable that the Government is still unable to resolve the issue.
He said that around half of Govajang village has gone to Myanmar due to border fencing.
If the fencing is a security fencing, how security would be provided to the villagers who are residing on the other side of the fencing, he questioned.
Saying that many villagers of Govajang village have fled to Moreh, he said that State and Central Governments must be responsibile for any eventuality in this regard.
Tombi further said that border town Moreh is currently facing scarcity of superfine rice.
He added that the price of one kg of superfine rice has reached upto Rs 30 .
With regards to NH-37 (Imphal-Jiribam Road), Tombi said that JD (U) would launch intense agitation if the highway is not revamped within September month.
