IIT Indore students visit Loktak Lake

Students and teachers of Indian Institute of Technology, Indore who are here on a tour visited Loktak Lake and other tourist spots in Bishnupur district.
Notably, the IIT Indore team visiting the State under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative is being hosted by NIT Manipur.
The team first visited Nambol Maibam Lotpa Ching, India Peace Memorial Complex and Imphal Peace Museum.
Bishnupur DC L Bikram and ADC H Boby Sharma gave the team a warm welcome and interacted with them.
NIT Manipur Registrar Professor Khumukcham Tomba said the EBSB, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat is a programme initiated by the Central Government in 2017 to bring about cultural exchange and integration among the youths of the country.
From the State, Manipur University, IIIT and NIT are involved in the programme, he said.
A 60 member team, including students and teachers of NIT visited Madhya Pradesh from March 20 to 27 under EBSB.
Meanwhile the 55 member IIT Indore team arrived here on March 28 and they will leave Imphal on April 2, he said.
After visiting India Peace Memorial Complex, the team then visited INA Headquarters at Moirang, Sangai Ethnic Park at Moirang Khunou and Karang island.
They also attended a programme organised by Loktak Development Authority at Sendra and interacted with its Chairman, M Asnikumar on topics related to the Loktak Lake.
After returning to Imphal, the team visited MFDC at Palace Compound and saw premieres of National award winning Manipuri films.
The team will visit Thoubal, Kakching and Andro tomorrow and Manipur Olympian Park on April 1 .
