CBI submits charge sheets against 6

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted charge sheets against four individuals, including the president of the Association for Action Development Society, before Special Court, Prevention of Corruption, Imphal West, yesterday.
The charge sheet was submitted in connection with improper maintenance of the grant of Rs 18, 49, 25,000 under the Ministry of Food Processing Industry for setting up an integrated cold chain project at Mao Gate, against A Solomon s/o Athikho of Poumai Colony (president of Association for Action Development Society), Potsangbam Khoni s/o Pishak of Khoyathong (near Sani Mandir), Amit Jain s/o Dharamchand of Chingmeirong and Jyoti Kumar Jain s/o Prakash Chand Jain of Alu Gali, following the completion of investigation by the IO concerned after the case was registered against the accused individuals under Prevention of Corruption Act in June of 2017 .
It may be mentioned that on June 6, 2017, CBI Anti Corruption Bureau carried out raids at five different locations in connection with the case under the supervision of two DSP officers.
The raid was conducted after a regular FIR was registered by CBI ACB Imphal on the basis of complaints from various sources regarding improper implementation of the sanction grant money to the tune of Rs 18, 49, 25,000 under the Ministry of Food Processing Industry, India, for setting up integrated food chain project at Mao Gate.
On that day, CBI raided the office of the Association for Action Development Society located at Mao Gate, its camp office at Poumai Colony, M/S Union Enterprises Khoyathong, M/S Sujata Construction Majorkhul Thangal Bazar and SL Gangawal and co-office of the Chartered Accountant and seized many documents.
It may also be mentioned that the said sanction amount was granted in the year 2012 .
