BJP eyes 2019 LS polls

Pointing out that the next Lok Sabha election is approaching fast, BJP Manipur Pradesh president and Raj ya Sabha MP K Bhabananda has appealed to all the party workers and supporters to begin due preparations for the election.
He was speaking at a political conference held at Ibudhou Laijingningthou Mandap, Thangmeiband Lairenhanjaba Leikai under the aegis of BJP Thangmeiband Mandal.
Bhabananda said that there was no development in the State because the previous Government trod the wrong path.
There will be speedy development in the State only when there is peace and communal harmony.
The MP also lauded the contributions of Meira Paibis towards bringing peace and development in the State.
Agriculture Minister V Hangkhanlian claimed that the fundamental objective of the BJP-led Government at both the Centre and the State is to bring a new Manipur, free from corruption.
The Government needs support and cooperation of party workers and the public to realise this objective.
Calling upon the people to work for communal harmony, Hangkhanlian said that the BJP-led Government has formulated many policies and programmes in order to bring speedy development in the hill areas of the State.
The State can definitely achieve rapid progress if there are no bandhs and blockades, asserted the Agriculture Minister.
Former Minister Dr Nimaichand Luwang said that there are both governance and development in the hill areas of the State since the BJP-led coalition Government was set up.
But there was no sign governance in the hill districts when there was Congress Government.
"Even though I lost the last Assembly election, nothing was more gratifying to me than the ouster of the Congress Government", Dr Nimaichand said.
There were bandhs and blockades after every three months when thee was Congress Government but there are neither bandhs nor blockades now, he said.
Dr Nimaichand further claimed that BJP would secure landslide victory in the next Lok Sabha election and retain power at the Centre.
Manipur Pollution Control Board Chairman L Radhakishore, Tourism Corporation Chairman Dr Sapam Ranjan, BJP Manipur Pradesh vice-president Jotin Waikhom and Salam Joy too spoke at the conference.
Earlier, a Meira Paibi shed constructed near the temple premises of Ibudhou Laijingningthou was inaugurated and dedicated to the local Meira Paibis.
