CBI staff reach out to needy

Imphal, April 24 2020:
Joining hands with other CBI Branches of the Country, the staff of CBI, Anti Corruption Branch, Imphal have distributed food and essential items to migrant workers, needy persons, children homes, old age homes, rehabilitation centres on account of the Nation-wide lockdown.
The CBI team who carried out the charitable work with the fund generated from voluntary donations by all the staff was led by Ng Khamrang, SP I/C and Head of Branch and L Hangshing Addl SP, said a statement of CBI, ACB, Imphal Branch.

In all, 100 families of migrant labourers/workers of Khuyathong and Nagamapal areas were reached with rice, dal, potatoes, onions, sugar, mustard oil, salt and tea leaves packets at Rising Knowledge Club, Khuyathong.
Food was also distributed to 100 families of Sanjenbam village at SOYO Club; Tabitha Children Home, Mantripukhri; Kanglatombi Children Home, Imphal West; Compassion Children Home, Motbung; Destitute Children Home, Tera Keithel; Senior Children Home, Kongba and Chumthang (Half Way Home), Langol.
Meanwhile convenor of BJP Manipur Pradesh COVID-19 Combat Team, Kh Jibon has also distributed rice, potatoes, dal, cabbage etc to each 5 most impoverished households under Irengbam Gram Panchayat Ward No 7, 10 and 11 .
IWSC presents essential items
Imphal West Students' Club (IWSC), Khumbong as a mark of solidarity and gratitude, has handed essential food items, hand sanitizers and masks to the authority of Longmai-2 Baptist Church for distribution to the households of the village.
Earlier, Longmai-2 Baptist Church led by its pastor had presented fruits and vegetables to the villagers of Khumbong in a supportive spirit after lives have been badly affected by the COVID-19 lockdown.
KVK Tupul, ICAR, Manipur Centre has also distributed maize, soya bean and groundnut seeds to the farmers of the Longmai-2, during the handing over of the relief materials, said a statement of IWSC.
DFO Jiribam team extend relief materials
RFO Jirimukh, Y Kula and staff of DFO Jiribam under the supervision of District Forest Officer, H Hemo, has extended free rice to around 203 worst hit households of Serapunji and Baiboni villages.
The relief work was done with contributions made by the staff of DFO as a part of an effort initiated by Jiribam Forest Division to fight COVID-19 along with the Prime Minister and the CM of Manipur.
Meanwhile, Md Ashab Uddin, MLA of Jiribam Assembly Constituency, came out to provide two bags of rice to scribes of Jiribam who are working relentlessly for the welfare of the people amidst the lockdown.
The rice was handed over to Oinam Dilip Kumar Meetei, Editor in Chief of Jiri News Network, for distribution to the journalists.
