Police Commemoration Day observed in different districts

Police Commemoration Day organized by Jiribam District Police was observed today at Jiribam Police Station while SP M Mobi Singh (MPS), high ranking officials of Jiribam District, NGOs, CSOs and public leaders attended the functions.
Led by SP Moirangthem Mubi Singh, floral tributes and wreath were placed on the photographs of three police martyrs - SI Yumnam Budhi Singh, Rfh Ngangom Amuyaima Singh and Rfh Thangjam Birjit Singh, who have been killed while discharging their duty while many people who have descended to join the function also paid respect to the brave police martyrs.
Modest gifts were also handed over to the families of the three police martyrs to honour their supreme sacrifice for the country.
Speaking at the occasion, SP M Mubi Singh (MPS) expressed that the three police martyrs put duty ahead of their life and made sacrifices while discharging their duty and added that it is duty of police personnel of all rank to maintain law and order in the State for peaceful co-existence of the all communities and they should exude their duty at the highest level.
Tengnoupal: As observed annually on October 21 to commemorate the death of Indian police personnel in the indricriminate firing from across the border by China in 1959, the Police Commemoration Day, organized by Tengnoupal District Police Headquarter, was observed today at Tengnoupal district headquarter.
The function was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police K Robinsun, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sandip Gopal Das (IPS), Deputy Superintendent of Police CDO Thomas Thokchom, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Tengnoupal N Suraj, OC Moreh Police Letkhohao Vaiphei, OC Tengnoupal Police John Lamkang and other police personnel and paid floral tributes and gave grand salute to the brave police personnel as a mark of respect.
Floral tributes and respect were also paid to two police martyrs, who were killed in an ambush unleashed by unknown miscreants.
Thoubal: District Police Thoubal also observed Police Commemoration Day at District Headquarter Thoubal today.
As part of the function, general salute were paid to security personnel who have lost their life to safeguard the integrity of the country by the personnel of District Police Thoubal while SP Thoubal S Gautam paid floral tributes to 21 police martyrs of the district.
SP Thoubal Gautam said that the day was observed by District Police Thoubal to commemorate the assassination of 10 security personnel by Chinese soldier at Ladak in 1959.He continued that the Police Commemoration Day is observed to honour and respect the 417 fallen soldiers and 21 State police personnel who have lost their life in the line of duty since September 1, 2017 till August 31 and to follow their path while serving the country.
The function was attended by CO 3rd IRB Thoubal N Herojit Meetei, Police officers of the district and kins of martyr police personnel.
Meanwhile, a painting competition on 'Police is my hero" was also conducted for students at Khangabok High School by District Police Thoubal as part of the function.
Kakching: Kakching District Police also observed Police Commemoration Day 2018 at SP Kakching Office.
Led by SP Kakching Victoria Yengkhom, floral tributes and respect were paid the brave police martys of the district.
Modest gifts were handed over to the kins of four police martyrs - Mayanglambam Chaoba Singh, Kakching Moirangthem Leikai, H Lukhoi, Keirak Mamang Leikai, Rajkumar Singh, Sugnu Mayai Leikai and Naorem Kesho Singh, Kakching Mayai Leikai Yaikhom Pareng to honour their sacrifices.
