International Day of Yoga 2019 widely observed in different districts

In view of the observation of 5th International Day of Yoga across the globe, a series of events was also carried out in different districts of the State today.
District Health Society, Thoubal, under the supervision of the District Mission Director, observed the International Day of Yoga 2019 at eight Health and Wellness Centres in the district including the one at Khongjom, Langathel, Tekcham, Tentha, Wangkhem, Thoubal Khunou, Haokha and Waithou.
T shirts and Yoga mats were distributed to the participants and Yoga sessions were also held in almost all the functions while a Yoga instructor Kh Meena was felicitated in one of the functions.
People from young to old, club members, womenfolk, Pradhans and Govt officials took part in the programmes.

In another event, the International Yoga Day observation was led by SP, Dr S Ibomcha at SP office complex while 3rd IRB Bn Khangabok Commandant Herojit Meitei also led another similar event under the guidance of Yoga Guru Dolly.
Thoubal College observed the day at the indoor hall of the college, with the theme 'Yoga for Health and Yoga for harmony & peace' in which school and college students in Thoubal district participated.
On the other hand, Lions Club of Thoubal in association with Bharat Vikash Parishad Thoubal Sakha also organised the International Day of Yoga, under the sponsorship of Alembic Pharmaceutical Ltd, at Kshetrisanglen Thoubal.
BJP Khangabok Mandal, under the theme 'Yoga with Gurus' also carried out the observation at Khangabok Makha Leikai community hall.
Khangabok Zilla Parishad Member, Pradhan and BJP Members took part in the event.
In Tengnoupal district, Tengnoupal district police observed the day under the theme 'Climate Action', at DHQs, Tengnoupal.
The observation was attended by DC H Rupachandra, SP Th Vikramjit, ASP Kh Robinsun among other officials.
Yoga Asanas were demonstrated to police personnel and department staff as part of the function.
Meanwhile, Tamil Sangam Moreh and VHP Manipur organised International Yoga Day at Tamil Sangam Moreh office today.
Similar observation was also witnessed at ICP Moreh, organised by 43 AR Moreh and ICP Moreh.
On the other hand, Kreeda Bharat, Manipur Jiribam Zilla observed the day at RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya Jiribam hall in which over 150 people participated while 37 Bn AR joined hands with 14 Bn NCC to observe the day at Jiribam Higher Secondary School hall in which 50 NCC cadets attended.
In Kakching district, District Yoga Training and Research Association (DYTRA), Kakching and 39 AR, Kakching Aerodrome organised 5th International Day of Yoga at Kakching Garden in Uyok Ching in which MLA Kakching AC, Y Surchandra, DYTRA president Y Mangi, DC Kakching Neilenthang Telien, Commandant 39 AR, Col PPS Chouhan, Kakching Municipal Council Chairperson, N Sanjitkumar, VC of the Council Ksh Jhalajit and KMC Councillors attended.
On the other hand, BJP Kakching Mandal also observed the day at the same location.
Health and Wellness Centre, Langmeidong under PHC Hiyanglam organised International Yoga Day in which Langmeidong GP Pradhan Badapati, CMO Kakching Dr Th Somorendro attended among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Th Somorendro said that with the development of Health and Wellness Centres in different parts of the State, Yoga and Naturopathy have been recommended as treatment aspects.
Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Mahila Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Yuva Bharat & Kishan Seva Samiti, Kakching district observed International Day of Yoga with the theme 'Yoga for heart' at Kakching Dramatic Union hall in Kakching Phousupat Leikai.
International Day of Yoga was also organised in different parts of Bishnupur district.
32Bn CRPF observed the day at its headquarters as part of its series of observation, led by 2nd in Command of the Bn Vinay Kumar Singh, wherein officers, sub officers, jawans and their family members participated.
The event was organised by Nambol BJP Mandal at its office in Nambol and attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh vice president and general secretary of the mandal.
People who gathered for the observation performed different asanas to learn the advantages of performing Yoga.
Meanwhile, Royal Academy of Law College Oinam in collaboration with a Yoga Centre in Oinam organised the day at the college seminar hall which was participated by teachers and students.
Bishnupur police also observed International Day of Yoga at DP complex under the leadership of SP Hopson Sapam.
District police officers along with police personnel participated.
