World War II relics donors feted

The World War II Memorial Foundation (WW2 MF) felicitated donors who generously donated war relics to the Foundation in a simple function held at its Office located at Phaipijang near Pallel today.
Letmang Haokip, President of the Foundation expressed heartfelt gratitude to Salam Meghachadra of Kakching Wairi Salam Leikai; Naorem Sanajaoba of Kakching Sumak Leikai; Doukhojam Haokip of Saivom; and Darmeng Lamkang of Lamkang Khunou as well as all other donors on behalf of the Foundation.
Although WW-II relics are found almost in all villages of the area, the same were sold as scraps for few amount instead of preserving it for posterity due to ignorance of the forefathers.
And few individuals who happened to keep some of the war relics again misconceived that it may fetch them a fortune or may contain gold, observed the President.
In spite of such ignorance and misconceptions, it is indeed very heartwarming that generous donors offered to donate their possession of war relics to the foundation, he added.

Yanglet Haokip, National Council Member of BJP and M Haothong Zou, Community Organiser CASA also expressed gratitude to the donors for their generosity and encouraged the members to donate more.
