2-day workshop on film making begins

A 2-day demonstration workshop on 'ABC of Film Making' was inaugurated by Nilotpal Majumdar, Director, Manipur State Film and Television Institute, Imphal at Town Hall, Ukhrul today.
Around 50 film enthusiasts are attending the workshop which was organized by Film Society of Manipur in association with Tangkhul Music and Film Association, Ukhrul, Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Government of Manipur and Department of Tourism, Government of Manipur.
Nilotpal Mazumdar said that the workshop will boost the Tangkhul movie industry and urged the participants to know oneself, understand the people and their environment to relate their stories to others.
Ng Ngashanngam, President of Tangkhul Music and Film Association, Ukhrul appreciated Film Society Manipur for organizing such important event in the district.
Salam Rajesh, vice president, Film Society of Manipur said that the society will organize bigger workshop in collaboration with Tangkhul Music and Film Association in future to enhance the knowledge of the film enthusiasts of the district.
Meghachandra Kongbam, Director, IPR, Manipur also delivered lecture on the history of world cinema, Manipuri cinema and Tangkhul cinema.
He said that cinema is the most effective medium of mass communication where a smaller community can tell its story to the whole world.
Film has an universal language to tell stories to anyone.
Documentary film 'My Grandpa's Village', directed by Alexander Pou, Myanmer feature film 'Lett Pan', directed by Wyne and Thai feature film titled 'The Overture', directed by I Vichailak were screened today.
