Imphal, February 15 2017:
Claiming that Indian National Con-gress (INC) would get above 40 seats out of the total 60 in the ensuing 11th State Legislative Assembly elec-tion and form the Govern- ment again, MLA of Andro Assembly Constituency Th Shyamkumar asserted that maximum number of votes cast in the coming election would be witnessed in the constituency.
He was addressing a political meeting organised by Andro Block Congress Committee at Andro Kang-jeibung Lampak today.
Shyamkumar exuded confidence that he (Congress candidate in Andro A/C) would get at least 26, 000/27,000 votes in the election as electorates of the constituency have faith in the party.
Congress would emerge victorious in Andro A/C in the election by getting votes much higher than the past two terms, he said.
The MLA maintained that people still keep faith in Congress judging by the rate of development the party has brought in unlike Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which is indulging in divisive politics.
Commenting on the ongoing economic blockade imposed by United Naga Council (UNC) on National Highways, Shyamkumar said that onus lies on the BJP Govt at the Centre to ensure that the blockade gets lifted soon.
Taking a dig at BJP, he mentioned that the pary may demand imposition of President's Rule in the State if it suffer loss in the election which is imminent.
Saying that electorates of Andro would be allowed to exercise their franchise in the election freely and democratically, the MLA assured that Congress would keep top priority on education, agriculture, health sector and construction of road and bridge in Andro constituency if the party comes to power again in the election.
