Drive against illegal hoarding leads to seizure of 5,600L of SK-oil

Imphal, June 12 2012:
A joint team of Lamphel Police led by its OC Ingocha and Intelligence Wing today seized 5,600 litres of Kerosene Oil, which were meant for distribution to public under PDS, from two different places in Imphal East and Imphal West.
In the first incident, 2,600 litres of Kerosene Oil were recovered from a house at Sagolband Tera Khuraijam
Leirak.
The house belongs to one Nameirakpam Ningol Linthoi (35) daughter of late N Bisheshwar of Singjamei Makha Nameirakpam Leikai.
In the other incident, police recovered 3,000 litres of Kerosene oil from the house of one Leishangthem Jiten of Khurai Sajor Leikai.
They were storing the oil for mixing in petrol to be sold in the black market.
Linthoi is a diesel supplier to around 100 Airtel Mobile Towers.
Police found three iron tanks of 4000 litres capacity, one iron tank of 2000 litres, six plastic water tank of 2000 litres, two plastic water tank of 1500 litres, one plastic water tank of 1000 litres and one plastic water tank of 500 litres filled with diesel and kerosene oil from her house.
On the other hand, police arrested Leishangthem Jiten along with the kerosene oil found in his house.
Upon interrogation, it was found that the Kerosene Oil seized from the two places have been provided by one Bobby of Top Khewa.
Police have launched a manhunt for Bobby and are trying to figure out how such huge quantity of Kerosene Oil meant for public distribution had been siphoned.
