Sit-in protest staged against CAB, 2016 at Kak and Tbl

Joint Committee Against Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016, Kakching Khunou, Umathel, Thongam organized a sit-in protest at Kakching Khunou market, Kakching District to oppose the passing of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 in Lok Sabha on January 8 .
M Suresh, member of Joint Committee Against Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016, Kakching Khunou, Umathel, Thongam, while speaking to the media persons, condemned BJP led Central and State Govt which are working in collusion to take effect the passing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 in the Parliament and said their action is a move to eliminate the identities of indeginous people in Manipur and to suppress and sideline the political rights and aspirations of the indigenous populations of North East India.
He also cautioned the State Govt that the said Bill can engulf the whole State into a ball of fire.
Public of Kakching Khunou, Umathel and Thongam will continue to extend full support to any protest and agitations called against the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 in Manipur, he added.
Thoubal: Meanwhile, Reformist Students Front (RSF) along with large numbers of student also staged sit-in protest against the passing of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 on Tuesday in Lok Sabha at Thoubal Melaground Community Hall while the protesters burnt the Bill copies today during their agitation.
Slogans such as "We oppose Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016" and "We will always stand against the Bill " were raised during the protest demonstration spearheaded by the members of RSF, Head Office.
Secretary general, RSF Head Office Amarjit Ningthouja said that RSF strongly condemned the passage of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 in the lower house and demanded a firm stand from the State Govt regarding the said Bill.
RSF considers the passage of said Bill as an act to annihilate the political rights and identities of indigenous populations of North East India, he added and vowed to initiate violent agitations against the Bill in cooperation with CSOs, club, organisations, meira paibis soon.
