Ukhrul, May 10 2018:
The Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long (TNWL) which is Headmen Association of Tangkhul Villages has reiterated the stand to ban the entry of Forest Minister Th Shyamkumar in Tangkhul areas and denounced the stand of the TNL to relax the ban imposed on the Minister.
In a statement, president of TNWL AS Vaomi said that the decision to ban the entry of the Forest Minister in Tangkhul areas still stands and added that the decision of the TNL that the restriction has been relaxed will not be accepted by TNWL until the matter is resolved.
Vaomi also maintained that the decision to ban the entry of Th Shyamkuymar was taken in the presence of TNL, TSL, TNWL, TKS and TMNL on April 20 at TSL office.
Hence the decision of TNL to suspend the ban is against the collective decision of April 20, he added.
TNL president Weapon Zimik violated the collective decision of Tangkhul Civil Organization members, he alleged and added that the information has misled the public.
The decision to ban the entry of the Minister in Tangkhul areas will continue to be enforced, added Vaomi.
General secretary of TNWL DS Zimik added that 216 touzis/headmen from different Tangkhul villages compose the Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long (Headmen Association) .
The decision of Tangkhul CSOs to unconditionally release the timber seized by Forest Minister Th Shyamkumar at Soraithem Village still stands, they added.
