Wangkhei Assembly Constituency MLA Y Erabot has said that nobody would be allowed to do anything wrong in the selection of beneficiaries of National Food Security Act 2013 in his Constituency.
The MLA said that the claims made by some Councillors were baseless as they did not mention any such issue at the Constituency level meeting held at the residence of the MLA on January 9 .
Erabot further said that a meeting of the District Level Committee for Implementation of the National Food Security Act 2013 was held at the official residence of Revenue Minsiter Th Debendra with the Minister himself in the chair on January 6 .
He also expresed concern that some people had already collected names for inclusion in the list of beneficiaries before the Government issued notification of the Central Government sponsored scheme.
The MLA said that even if they have collected the names, they must contact the DC only through the AC Level Committee, otherwise their applications would be rejected.
As such, an office has been opened for the said purpose at the residence of the MLA from January 9, Erabot said and added that last date for submission of application form is January 14 .
Saying that application forms are available free of cost at the office, he said that nobody would be allowed to do anything wrong in the selection of beneficiaries.
The Assembly Constituency would have 8471 beneficiaries consisting of 1731 beneficiaries in Ward No 21, 2496 in Ward No 22, 1382 in Ward No 23 and 2862 in Ward No 26 .
