Locals, staff members laud road repairing work

After road leading to Shija Hospital was repaired recently, locals of Langol area and employees of Shija Hospital have extended gratitude to the department concerned for its laudable step.
After the road was constructed almost 4 years, repairing work has not been taken up.
As a result, commuters particularly those who travel to and fro Shija Hospital for medical treatment have been facing difficulties.
Shija Hospital is approximately 2 kms away from Lamphel police station.
Locals and employees of Shija Hospital have been pressing the department concerned to repair the road for the last few years.

When asked about the recent development that has taken place in and around the hospital area, managing director of Shija Hospital Dr Kh Palin said that the department has taken up a commendable step for the welfare of the people.
"The newly repaired road will certainly ease the difficulties of the commuters and for that we are extremely grateful," Dr Palin said.
S Jasonbi, who runs a small shop near Shija Hospital, said people have been facing great hardship for quite sometime due to the deplorable road condition.
The road condition got worse after the construction of National Institute of Technology was initiated.
She added, "Trucks carrying materials for construction of NIT, Manipur would ply on the road on daily basis which had worsened the road condition.
Now that the road has been repaired by the repaired, NIT, Manipur should also hold the responsibility of maintaining of the road" .
Romeo Maibam, staff of Shija Hospital said that due to the pitiable road condition, over 800 employees of Shija Hospital could not report to work on time and that would create a problem during any medical emergency.
Lauding the State Government and department concerned for fulfilling the wishes of the people, Romeo added that the newly repaired road has solve the commuters' problem but also contributed towards the growth and development of the State.
In the meantime, a reliable source has informed that the road repairing work was finally initiated after a group of people who brought a patient from Ningthoukhong made a complaint to the Prime Minister Office regarding the deplorable road condition.
