'Maringaa Thlaa Waa Laa' released at Khunbi Tuinem village

Women members of Maring community organized and celebrated "Lhawa Chun" festival in the connection with the start of new year at different villages inhabitated by Maring community on April 6 .
The festival was celebrated to pay respect to the departed elders while traditional dance and songs were performed in their memory by the female members of the community.
Later, all the members present greeted each other for their well-being and enjoyed the festival with grand feast.
Earlier, the festival was celebrated on Cheiraoba (Shajibu Nongma Panba) but from last year, it has been celebrated on the first Saturday of April.
Meanwhile, Khuwei Tuinemkhu Napuiya Yinglam (Khunbi Tuinem Nupi Lup) organized and celebrated the festival at Khunbi Tuinem village, Tengnoupal District on April 6 during which a book namely "Maringaa Thlaa Waa Laa" (songs on Maring Seed Sowing Festival), written by Ch Joseph Maring alias Modaarshim Shillei was released by Chairman Y Kothlouyaang at Khunbi Tuinem village.
The book was published by Maring Custom and Cultural Academy with due permission from Maring Naga Literature Society.
The ceremony was attended by Pastor Robinson Shinglai, Khunbi Tuinem Baptist Church and other dignitaries.
