Khemchand trumps democratic form of governance

Maintaining that democracy is the best form of governance in the world, Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Yumnam Khemchand asserted that it is high time for all of us to fight and eliminate any form of discrimination amongst human beings due to differences in caste, creed, religion, sex and ethics.
He was addressing the 81st foundation day celebration of Assam Legislative Assembly held at the conference hall of Gopinath Bordoloi Bhawan yesterday evening.
Speaking as guest of honour, Khemchand stated that existence of discrimination and oppression amongst human beings are detrimental in building a better and advanced human civilization.

He noted that equality, equity, guaranty of highest respect for human dignity and human rights are duly uphold mostly under democratic form of governance throughout the world.
Today huge populations of the world cherish democracy, he added.
He stated that as we advanced, modern era started and at the beginning of modern civilisation building process, we started realizing that democracy is the best form of governance throughout the world.
It is indeed so, because under democratic form of governance, people are guaranteed their basic rights irrespective of caste, creed, religion, sex, rich or poor, he added.
He affirmed that all the rules, laws, Acts etc that make democracy fully functional to render optimum delivery of services to the people are all done and guided from none other than Parliament at National level and State Legislative Assembly at State level.
Many great thinkers and philosophers rightly stated that Parliament or Legislative Assembly is the temple of democracy as it is the most rightful and effective platform for fine tuning for better system of governance, Khemchand averred.
