Services of nurses highlighted

The Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking ceremony of 3rd batch B.Sc nursing students of Irengbam Thamcha Devi Nursing and Health Care Research Institute was held today at GM Hall.
A total of 30 nursing students took oath during the ceremony.
Addressing the occasion as the chief guest, Irengbam Nalini Devi, MLA of Oinam Assembly Constituency expressed that nursing is a dedicated profession focusing on the physical well-being of patients thereby helping them to recover faster.
Maintaining that nursing is a highly respected profession, she said that the sincere and selfless efforts of the nurses help considerably in speedy recovery of the patients.
Everyone should acknowledge their selfless contributions and should give them their due respect, she added.
She also appealed to the new nursing students to serve the people with utmost dedication and honesty.
The programme was also attended by Irengbam Thamcha Devi Nursing and Health Care Research Institute founder Irengbam Ibotombi Singh; Registrar of Manipur Nursing Council Lamphelpat Dr Aribam Jamuna Devi; Trained Nurses' Association of India (TNAI) Manipur president Naorem Tangbi Devi and International player Irengbam Shanti Kumar.
The students also enthralled the gathering by their entertaining cultural performances.
