Bishnupur, November 07 2017:
An inspection team led by Manipur Pollution Control Board Chairman as well as Oinam Assembly Constituency MLA, L Radhakishore Singh and accompanied by Project Director LDA L Bhagatton inspected the District Sports Complex at Moirang AC and the Phubala tourist home today .
After the inspection of the unfinished sports complex by the Chairman on November 3, he along with the LDA Project Director visited the complex for the second time today, under the supervision of the Chief Minister .
Speaking to media persons, L Radhakishore stated that a survey on the levelling of the low lying portions of the complex will be conducted .
He said that the progress of the sports complex was probably hindered due to the low lying areas which often results in a disaster prone area, however, following the supervision of CM and his vision to set up sports complex at all the districts, the construction work will be continued again .
While inspecting the very first tourist home of the State, the team was shocked at the current situation of the tourist home.
The building which was constructed after the State attained Statehood, was revamped in 1995, however, the team expressed disappointment when they found out that the newly constructed building was not even inaugurated and left as is, after it was build at the time .
No caretaker or security personnel were available to look after the tourist home.
This was due to the deployment of a CRPF company at the home, which in turn decreased the number of tourists visiting the area .
Radhakihore stated that the present State Government aims to promote the tourism sector in the State and the department concerned will be taking up all the necessary steps to improve the infrastructure and the sector at the earliest.
