Imphal, November 06 2013:
Demanding that Shishu Nistha Niketan school authorities revoke notification that students not travelling in vehicles (Maruti Vans) registered with the school will not be entertained admission, All Manipur Students' Guardians Association (AMSGO) said conditions laid down by the school is an aberration from the notification of Directorate of Education (S) .
Speaking to newspersons at its Palace Compound office today, AMSGO organisation secretary S Sumati said the Directorate notification issued by the ZEO emphasised on convenient conveyance of the students unlike the present practice of students packed into vehicles carrying them.
Moreover, the Directorate's notice for registration of vehicles with the schools concerned is for streamlining the students' transportation system and do not amount to mandatory affiliation, construed the secretary while expressing that Shishu Nistha Niketan authorities insisting on transportation of students only in vehicles (vans) registered to the school is aimed at mental harassment of both the young students and their parents/guardians.
Moreover, the school's notification transgresses interest and contribution made by the van service providers who had been ferrying students ever since establishment of the Niketan in 2000, said the secretary while demanding that the particular notification be revoked at the earliest failing which the Organisation would initiate necessary action in collaboration with students' bodies.
In addition to pointing out that the Rs 300 priced school prospectus have no mention about either CBSE guidelines/ norms or the school's own rules and regulations, Sumati also drew the attention of the State authorities to monitor activities of Shishu Nistha Niketan authorities.
