Imphal has been worst it by skyrocketing prices just after the intensified public movement on Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) and now all supplies of essentials have been derailed following the highway bandhs, Manjit said.
Price of potato has shot up to Rs 30 per kg, Rs 1050 per half bag of rice, mukshori costs Rs 150 and onion Rs 80, he said.
Manjit accused the wholesalers of monopolizing the market and criticized the State Government for keeping mum on the price rise issue which has seriously impacted the common people.
The Weight & Measurement Department under CAF & PD is not doing its duty, the student leader alleged and demanded the Government to look into the matter to solve the price rise woe.
He demanded that the Government take steps within three days to show price list at every shops or else the AMSU will launch an intense drive against them.
