Imphal, October 05 2016:
Questioning if the Congress Government has achieved anything worthwhile regarding the development of Manipur, BJP Manipur in-charge Prahlad Singh Patel has highlighted the need to bring a collective understand ing in order to teach Congress party a befitting lesson.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of a BJP Mandal office at Langthabal Mayai Leikai today.
After the establishment of a BJP Government at the Centre, Congress Government of different Slates were routed one after another.
It's time for the people of Manipur to topple the Congress Government and set up a BJP Government so as to bring about rapid development in the State.
The Government of India set a target of giving LPG connection to around five crore BPL, families under UJJWAL scheme.
Out of this total target, around 75 lakh BPL families have been given LPG connections so far, Prahlad said.
The Government has been able to provide rice at Rs 1 per Kg under National Food Security Act (NFSA).
However, in Manipur, the Congress Government is still unable to provide rice to the exact quantity entitled to the masses, he said.
BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesman O Joy asserted that only politics can bring a big change in the society.
Politics is an art of governance.
Good politics automatically brings good governance.
If politics followed in a society is flawed, the society is doomed, Joy said.
India has witnessed a great change in its political landscape but people of Manipur have not been receiving their due shares.
The Congress Government is unable to provide people what are entitled to them in a uniform manner.
BJP has been making extra efforts to uproot the Congress party from all over the country for its failure to bring uniform development.
Since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of India, the country has seen rapid economic development and India is now recognised as a rich country.
Joy went on to claim that he undertook several development programmes in Langthabal AC when he was a Minister.
"As an Opposition Member, I was always fighting for the rights and shares of the people of Langthabal AC", Joy continued.
Exuding confidence that he would be given a BJP ticket for the forthcoming State Assembly election after potential and capabilities of all the aspiring candidates are assessed, Joy maintained that age would not be a deciding factor for allotment of party tickets.
He went on to say that BJP would not go for any prepoll alliance.
