Imphal, January 05 2013 :
All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) and Tangkhul Katamnao Long, Imphal (TKLI) have strongly condemned the ghastly incident of murdering Laishram Ibohalbi, a police constable who hailed from Yairipok Vishnunaha Leikai in Thoubal district, at Hatta village near Finch Corner under Shangsak PS of Ukhrul districk on December 29 last.
President of ATSUM Muan Tombing demanded fast and swift investigation into the incident for booking the culprits at the earliest possible and said that 'ATSUM fails to understand as to why killings, kidnappings and other crimes continue unabated under the present state government.
Tombing further said that ATSUM is ready to carry out any form of necessary action if the State government continues to remain mute spectator to such frequent crimes in the state.
Condemning the incident, general secretary of TKLI Ninglum KS said that such evil designs would not be tolerated.
Questioning the motive behind the inhuman act, TKLI expressed concern that such evil acts are being perpetrated to create more divisions in the society and called upon the government to act swiftly for nabbing the murderers and punishing them in accordance to the law of the land.
However, TKLI has outrightly rejected the allegation of the JAC over involvement of two students in the incident and asserted that the JAC should not drag in innocent people into the matter.
Saikul Area Foothills Naga Association (SAFNA) has also strongly condemned the inhuman act of killing the police constable whose body was found buried in a paddy field.
