Governor bats for women's empowerment

Governor Najma Heptulla has today urged the people of the State to acknowledge women's role in society and promote women's empowerment in Manipur.

Speaking at the flagging off ceremony of Coimbatore-London road trip organised for women by Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal at Sangai Conference Hall, Hotel Imphal, Governor Najma Heptulla said, "Women have been playing crucial role in society.
Motivating them by acknowledging their contributions is necessary.
Let us work towards providing education to girls and promote women's empowerment" .
Lauding Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal for organising such event, the Governor said, "Three women will travel 24 countries in 70 days under "Rotary India Literacy Mission" and that is something we all should rejoice and be proud of" .
