Enforcement of Motor Vehicles Act 2019 begins at Kangpokpi

Kangpokpi, February 01 2021:
Kangpokpi District Police Traffic Control Wing (TCW) under the supervision of PG Singsit, IPS, SP Kangpokpi today started traffic regulation and enforcement of Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019 with the return of traffic personnel who were trained with SP Traffic in Imphal.
As many as 40 persons who violated traffic rules were detained and educated on road safety and later released, said a statement of Cyber & Media Cell, Kangpokpi Police.
The Act will soon be extended to other major towns like Motbung, Sapormeii;a, Saikul, KMC (Champhai), etc, it added.
Kangpokpi police urged the public, CSOs and stakeholders to cooperate with the police as it is for the welfare of the public.
It may be mentioned that TCW was set up in November 2020 with a view to ensure safety of people in the district especially along the two National Highways passing through Kangpokpi district.
15 personnel including two officers were sent for training in December 2020, and another batch of 50 personnel are currently undergoing training with SP Traffic in Imphal.
