Social service held at Pallel

In connection with the observation of Lamyanba Irabot Ningsing Numit, a 2-day mass social service was kicked off today by Y Surchandra Singh, MLA Kakching A/C at Pallel Maning Leikai here.
Speaking at the inaugural function, the MLA said that he does not think it appropriate to observe the Ningsing Numit by just organising functions and seminars in which dignitaries spoke on the occasion without following the aspiration of the late leader.
"We should join hands and work together in creative ways for the upliftment of our society without discrimination, including political affiliation in accordance with the aspiration of our late leader" .
During the village-wide social service which will be concluded tomorrow was organised by Social Development Organisation (SDO), Pallel for the first time, a large number of villagers including women took part in the cleanliness drive.
Meanwhile, Lions Club of Imphal Greater, an Association of Lions Clubs International District-322 D has organised a one-day social service cum tree plantation project at Sri Sri Govindaji Temple today.
A press release of the Club said, as a part of International President's Message for the conservation and promotion of clean environment, it has initiated the noble project since the inception of the Club in the year 2000.The Project covered the cleanliness of campus of Shyam Kundha and Radha Kunda, white washing of the boundary wall and plantation of flowering plants in and around the campus.
