SVEEP campaign on ethical voting continues

Imphal, December 26 2016:
A one day camp on ethical voting with respect to the upcoming 11th State Legislative Assembly Elections organized by the District Election Officer (DEO), Imphal West, was held today at Thau Ground, Thangmeiband.
The camp was organized as a part of the DEO's Systematic Voter's Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Campaign for "free fair & peaceful poll service at your doorstep" .
A free medical camp, biometrics enrolment camp & instant issue of OBC, Domicile & Income Certificates for the electors of Lamphel sub-division were carried out during the campaign.
Altogether, 32 certificates were issued while 40 electors took part in the medical health camp.
120 electors went through biometrics photo-capturing.
The highlight of the campaign was the exhibition of a football match between 12th Keishamthong A/C & 9th Thangmeiband A/C in the afternoon session of the campaign in which Keishamthong A/C beat Thangmeiband A/C by a margin of 4-3 .
Before the commencement of the match, all the officials present along with the players and the audience took a pledge to ensure corruption free poll.
District Election Officer, Imphal West, Robert Singh Kshetrimayum; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Lemba Kshetrimayum, SDO Lamphel, Ramananda Nongmeikapam, officers, staffs of Imphal West District and electors of both the ACs attended the campaign.
