Foreign countries recognise potential of State nurses, says Health Minister

Health & family Welfare and IPR Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh has said that the potential of the nurses of the State are well recognized by foreign countries as there have been requests to the State Government to send nurses from the State for employment and service to their countries.
Speaking as the chief guest at the International Nurses Week Celebration, 2022 held at the Jubilee Hall, RIMS today Dr S Ranjan said that recognizing the talents and sincere service of the nurses of the State, Asian countries particularly Japan have requested to send State nurses to their country.
The Government has also intimated the matter to the authorities concerned and the Government is planning to impart Japanese language to the nurses for better communication, he added.

Lauding the services of the nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Minister maintained that without the sacrifices of the nursing community, it would not have been possible to control the COVID-19 pandemic.
He also stressed that health care at the primary level needs to be strengthened and stated that appropriate policies to achieve the best health care service in the State will be chalked out in consultation with the state Chief Minister.
As a part of the programme, the attendees paid floral tribute to Florence Nightingale and prizes were also distributed to the meritorious nursing students by the Chief Guest.
Speaking at the occasion Director, Health Services Manipur, Dr K Rajo informed that the process is underway for setting up a separate Directorate for Nursing in the State.
Service tenure for awardee nurses have been extended and new nursing colleges have also been opened in order to meet the requirement of nurses in the State, he added.
President, TNAI Manipur State Branch, N Tangbi Devi, Director of RIMS, Professor A Santa Singh and Director of State Health Society Manipur Dr Somorjit Ningombam also attended the event as the presidium members.
The celebration was jointly organized by the Trained Nurses Association of India and Student Nurses Association of India, Manipur Branch.
