Mayanglambam Siromani in NIA custody

The National Investigation Agency on Thursday took custody of Mayanglambam Siromani, wanted in the ambush on a 4th Assam Rifles ROP team at Chamol Sajik Tampak road on November 15, 2017 .
On Thursday, M Siromani was produced before a Thoubal Court by a team of Waikhong Police along with a prayer for judicial custody remand.
He was in police custody.
The Court, on perusal of the case had remanded M Siromani to judicial custody when a team of the NIA filed an application for custody to investigate the ambush on the 4th Assam Rifles ROP team at Chamol Sajik Tampak road on November 15, 2017 .
The ambush had left one Assam Rifles personnel dead and three others injured.
Two UG cadres were also killed in the attack.
The agency had announced Rs 2 lakh reward to nab Mayanglambam Siromani [alias Casper alias Kesper] .
The Court allowed the NIA prayer and the agency then took custody of Siromani.
He was then produced before an NIA Court on Thursday and taken into five days custody till May 17 .
It may be noted that in compliance with an order of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the NIA Guwahati Branch had re-registered the case after taking it over from Chakpikarong Police Station.
During the investigation, NIA had established that PLA and MNPF conspired to wage a war against the Union Government and carried out the ambush on Assam Rifles personnel on November 15, 2017 .
The NIA had arrested three accused persons, who are presently lodged at Manipur Central Jail Sajiwa.
After the investigation of the case, the NIA had submitted a charge sheet before the Court of Special Judge NIA Manipur on December 31, 2019 against accused persons, Laishram Priyokumar alais Amuthoi alias Ibomcha, Thangjam Achou alias Achan alias Thoujal Chandam Tondon alias Shileiba alias German and Mayanglambam Siromani alias Casper alias Kesper and two others, who were on the run-Koijam Ibochouba alias Sumo and Thokchom Ningthem alias Feijoijamba under different Sections of the IPC and UAPA Act.
