One day sensitization / training programme on 'child protection' held at Bpr

Bishnupur, October 11 2019:
A one day sensitization cum training programme for Panchayati Raj institutions of Bishnupur CD Block on the topic "Child Protection" organized by District Child Protection Unit, Bishnupur Department of Social Welfare, GoM was held at Panchayat Resource Centre, Mini Secretariat DC Office Complex in Bishnupur District today.
The programme was attended by DC Bishnupur District, Neeta Arambam as chief guest; BDO Bishnupur CD Block, K Jadumani Singh as functional president and SP Bishnupur, L Priyadarshini Devi as guest of honour.
Pradhan, up-pradhan and ward members of 7 Gram Panchayat of Bishnupur Community Development Block were also present in the programme.
As part of the programme, a short film titled "Komal" was screened to make aware the public about the crime related to children while Chairperson Child Welfare Committee Bishnupur, P Premchand Singh; SDPO Bishnupur, Luxmi Thingbaijam and Programme Officer, Social Welfare, Mala Lisham spoke on "POCSO Act 2012", "Role of Special Juvenile Police Unit" and "Integrated Child Protection Scheme" as resource persons respectively.
Delivering the keynote speech of the programme, N Nandashyam, District Child Protection Officer stressed on child protection at grassroot level which is exactly the reason why such sensitisation cum training programme was organized in the presence of pradhan, up-pradhan and ward members.
In her speech, chief guest DC Bishnupur Neeta Arambam said that it is the collective effort that will go a long way in solving any problem be it crime against children or other social issues and urged all to act as a responsible citizen in tackling all crimes related to children.
