Indefinite bandh suspended at Sugnu area

As part of the ongoing agitation against the burning of St Joseph Hr Sec School, Sugnu, a sit-in protest was held at Sugnu Bazar while indefinite total bandh was imposed in the area by the JAC formed against the arson which saw closure of all business establishments and road blockage by JAC volunteers.
During the bandh, Letpao Haokip, minister WR & YAS and Ranjit Singh, MLA Sugnu AC met the JAC leaders and the public and were given a memorandum by the JAC leaders, said a press release issued by the JAC Against the burning down of St Joseph Hr Sec School, Sugnu.
It further said that they (Letpao Haokip and Ranjit Singh) also assured to book the culprits at the earliest and also ensured the security of the school, staff and students.
Accordingly, the JAC, in its meeting, decided to relax the bandh until further notice and informed that arrangements will be made for resumption of the classes at the earliest, as the two representatives (Letpao Haokip and Ranjit Singh) gave their assurance to book the culprits at the earliest and also assured the security of the staff, students and the school, maintained the statement.
The JAC appeal to all concerned persons, particularly the denizens of Sugnu for their untiring support and cooperation in their endeavor to bring justice for the students, parents and the public of Sugnu, asserts the statement.
