Minister graces Ex-servicemen rally

Hangkhanlian has graced the Assam Rifles' Ex-servicemen
rally held today at Churachandpur in which about 200 Assam
Rifles veterans, 45 widows of AR personnel and two Veer Naris
from Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts attended.
The
rally was held at the District Training Centre.
Brigadier Ajay Kumar, Commander 27 Sector Assam
Rifles, ADC Chairman Khaipao Haokip, Colonel Sanjay
Kumar, Commandant 25 Assam Rifles and members of
District Council and District Administrative Officers also
attended the rally.
The Assam Rifles said that the rally was organized with
the aim to assist ex-servicemen, who have sacrificed their
prime life to protect the Nation and understand their problems
and help them in resolving issues with the help of the
local administration.
Several State departments including Agriculture, Horticulture,
Fisheries, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, and Sericulture
opened an outlet each at the event to educate and help the
ex-servicemen and their families for their future ventures.
A pension cell was also set up to solve the grievances of
ex-servicemen post the seventh pay commission.
The State Bank of India and the Axis Bank also set up
an outlet each to help the veterans in opening new bank
accounts and help preparation of Aadhaar cards.
Medical and Dental doctors also managed a clinic with
fully equipped facilities to understand the medical shortcomings
of the former army men and to advise them
accordingly.
The AR Commanders insisted that the rally is not just
a single day affair but rather the beginning of an attachment
with the veterans.
