AR arrests two UGs, 8 peddlers

Imphal, March 02 2012:
At least ten, including two UG cadres and eight drug peddlers have been arrested during the last 48 hours from different places in the State.
Troops of 9 AR of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) apprehended one KYKL cadre today while launching an operation in Moreh Ward No 9 area of Chandel district, an IGAR (S) statement claimed.
The apprehended cadre was identified as SS Pvt Biran alias Naba (45) S/o (L) Kala Sing, of Laipapang, Nambol, Bishenpur.
One 9 mm Pistol with magazine and five 9 mm live rounds were recovered from the him.
Later, the same troops carried out operation in Ward No.7, Moreh and apprehended one PREPAK cadre today, the release said.
He was identified as SS Pvt Bishorjeet (26) son of Rajan Oinam of Ward No.7, Heinuomakhong, Moreh.
One M-16 Rifle with magazine and five live rounds of M-16 were recovered from him.
Both the cadres along with the recovered items were handed over to Imphal West Police station, it stated.
Meanwhile, discovering the transportation of banned drugs along Tengnoupal of Chandel district, troops of 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) along with lady police representative arrested two peddlers yesterday, according to an IGAR (S) statement.
They were identified as Tina (40) w/o Akamvou and Athin (28) s/o Akamvou, both from Tamei, Tamenglong.
30 grams of Cocaine was recovered from them.
They were handed over to Tengoupal Police station along with the recovered item, it stated.
In yet another incident, troops of 42 Assam Rifles of 26 sector under HQ IGAR (South) launched operation at Angbreshu of Chandel district and apprehended six peddlers along with banned drugs yesterday.
They were identified as Totong (50) s/o Nguljathong, of Seneiveng, Moreh; Seichon, (36) s/o Kaipon, of Ward No.7, Moreh; Jamkhongam (19) s/o Khanjapao of Ward No.7, Moreh; Lilian (40) s/o Heijashei of Seneiveng; Thangboi (35) s/o Ngamkhai of T/Zanuam and Thanjalun (30) s/o Thangzan, of Ward No.7, Moreh.
20,00,000 Actifed Actisun tablets, 2,01,600 Mucosun tablets and 1,68,000 Actifin tablet were recovered from them.
They were handed over to Narcotic Control Bureau, Imphal along with the items, it added.
