Governor, others greet on Gaan Ngai

Governor Dr Najma Heptulla today greeted the people of the State specially the Zeliangrong community on the occasion of Gaan Ngai which begins from December 31."It is a religious occasion but it also showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Zeliangrong community.
Let us ring in a New Year full of hope and aspiration with 'Gaan Ngai' bringing peace and harmony to one and all in the State," said the Governor in her message to the people.
Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar Singh also wished the community on the occasion.
"Gaan Ngai festival enchants the identity and cultural beauty of the Kabui community.
May this festival bring peace, harmony and peaceful co-existence amongst the people of Manipur," said the Deputy Chief Minister in his message to the people.
Th Biswajit Singh, Minister of Works, RD & PR too greeted the people of the State specially the Zeliangrong community on the occasion.
"May this year's Gaan Ngai celebration imbibe the spirit of love, harmony and brotherhood among the different communities residing in the State," said the Minister in his message to the people.
Karam Shyam, Minister CAF and PD also greeted the people of the State on the occasion and wished that the Gaan Ngai and New Year herald love and peaceful co-existence among the people of the State.
President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, TN Haokip greeted the Zeliangrong community a joyous Gaan Ngai and wished that the festival brings in love, peace, harmony and a future devoid of differences in the State.
North East India Development Party also greeted the people specially Kabui community a joyous GaanNgai.
Manipur Peoples' Democratic Front too greeted the community on the occasion and wished that the festival brings in peace and harmony in the State.
Lok Janshakti Party, Manipur State Unit also greeted the Kabui community on the occasion of Gaan Ngai and wished that the festival ushers in peace and foster coexistence amongst the people in the State.
Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) has also extended warm wishes to all the people on the auspicious occasion of Gaan Ngai.
It prayed that the festival may bring peace, harmony and prosperity throughout the North East region.
All Manipur Students' Union greeted the community joyous Gaan Ngai and wished that the festival brings in a New Year filled with peace and harmony.
Patsoi Kendra Development Council too greeted the community on the occasion and wished that the festival foster co-operation between the different communities in the State and bring in peace and harmony in the State.
Gaan Ngai a post-harvest festival of the Zeliangrong community also marked the beginning of a New Year.
It is a festival in which the departed souls are given ritual farewells, graves are beautified with dances performed in their honour.
