Rotary Club Imphal extends assistance

Rotary Club of Imphal extended its assistance to aged persons and disabled children through a service programe organised by the Rotary Club of Imphal under Rotary International District 3240 today.
Led by Rotary Club of Imphal president Keisham Binod, Rotary members visited old age homes at Mongshangei area as part of its service programme.
During an interactive session at Mongshangei Old Age home, Keisham Binod said the service programme was taken up under the Rotary Club's motto 'Service above the self' .
The club has been organising similar programmes under the Club motto every year and would continue doing the same, the president added.
A resident there at the Home, identified as Amuchou from Churachandpur, expressed his gratitude to the whole crew of the Old Age Home for the care they have taken and also to Rotary club for extending a helping hand to the Home through its service programme.
"I would like to donate my eyes when I die.
I would not like my body to be burnt and wasted either, instead I am donating them too to medical practitioners for the purpose of education," Amuchou added.
Rotary Club president Keisham Binod donated a sum of Rs 10,000 and 3000 units of brick, Rotary Club member Amuthoi and Pebam Premanda donated 50 cement bags and a sum of Rs 2000 respectively to the Old Age Home as part of the service programme today.
Four charcoal heaters, 5 mats, 16 blankets, 16 towels, two water flasks and 4 bags of charcoal were also donated to the Home by Rotary Club of Imphal.
In continuation, the Club members visited BB Paul Mental Development Home, Mongshangei and donated various items to its children.
