Minister assures positive reply to dental students

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Faggan Singh Kulaste met Dental college students staging a sit in protest outside RIMS jubilee hall demanding a stipend raise today and assured them of a swift response to their demands.
The Minister was inaugurating various units inside the campus when he met the students and asked them their demands.
After the students said that they wanted a stipend raised similar to that of MBBS students, Faggan Singh assured them of a positive response if their demand adhered to the rules of the Central Govt.Speaking to the media, he said, "There will be an increased drive to improve the infrastructure and condition of RIMS" .
The Minister said that steps and measures would be taken up after consulting the hospital officials in order to provide improved treatment facilities to the people.
He said that it was critical for any development works to be completed in time and the hospital can truly shine if problems like lack of tools and infrastructures, inconveniences faced by the patients and the plight of the staffs etc, were addressed.
Faggan met patients at the wards and inspected the condition of the dental college.
He also met top officials of the hospital and discussed steps to improve the present condition.
The Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare also inaugurated RIMS Multi Disciplinary Research Unit, Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory and Senior Citizen Counter during his visit.
Thangmeiband Constituency MLA Khumukcham Joykisan, BJP Election Management Committee Convenor Th Chaoba, RIMS Director Prof CH Arunkumar and top officials of the facility also accompanied him during the visit.
