Development of Moreh hospital Rs 2 crore remain unutilized

A sum of Rs two crore deposited with Manipur Development Society (MDS) for development of Moreh Hospital remain unutilized till date.
Altogether, an amount of around Rs six crore was earmarked by the State Government for development of Moreh Hospital.
Out of the total amount earmarked, Rs two crore was deposited with MDS in the first phase.
The amount of Rs six crore was earmarked to augment Moreh Hospital from 50 beds to 100 beds and renovate dilapidated physical infrastructure.
Meanwhile, a reception function was held today at HTC Moreh conference hall in celebration of the induction of Tengnoupal AC MLA D Korungthang as Health and Family Welfare, GAD and CADA Minister in the State Cabinet.
IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip, Works Minister Ksh Biren and Wabagai AC MLA Fazur Rahim were also present at the felicitation function.
Later the Ministers and the MLA inspected the existing condition of Moreh Hospital.
Speaking to media persons after inspecting the hospital, Korungthang stated that nothing was done for development of the hospital even though Rs two crore was already deposited with MDS for the same purpose.
Noting that the existing condition of the hospital is quite pathetic, Korungthang asserted that he would ask for reimbursement of the amount deposited with MDS.
The Health and Family Welfare Minister stated that he would consult the Chief Minister to develop Moreh Hospital to the optimum level.
He then appealed to all the denizens of Moreh to inform him if doctors and staff posted at Moreh Community Hospital are found neglecting their duties.
IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip too stressed on the need to develop Moreh Hospital as a reliable health care centre.
Works Minister Ksh Biren announced that a bailey bridge of 150 feet would be built at Tengnoupal over the highway stretch which suffers from frequent sinking.
ADC Chandel Chairman Lunkhosei Zou, ADC Chandel Vice-Chairman and Members, Additional DC Moreh and Additional SP Moreh were also present at the function.
