2 misled to join as URF cadres in signing MoU with govt

Lured with the promise of giving jobs in construction of drain at Leimakhong Army Camp, two persons were allegedly made to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Government as cadres of United Revolutionary Front (URF) by one Khulem Mukhok of Kongpl Chingnangbam Leikai during the tripartite agreement inked on February 13 at Ist Manipur Rifles Banquet hall here.
The two persons who were deceitfully made to sign on the MoU as members of URF have been identified as Yaikhom Sabitri (55), s/o late Y Gouro and Ngasam Dilipkumar (52), s/o Ng Mani.
Both of them are from Khurai Chingnangbam Leikai.
They were lured by Mukhok with the promise of giving jobs in the construction of drain at Laimakhong Army Camp and taken to 30 AR post near Loitangkhunou Spining Mill on February 12 .
They were released from the AR post only today.
Speaking to media persons in this regard at Manipur Press Club here, Yaikhom Sabitriand Ngasam Dilipkumar informed that after being taken to post of 30 AR located near Loitangkhunou Spining Mill on February 12, they were made to sign on a paper and later given army uniforms.
They put on the uniforms thinking that since they would be working with the army, they were being provided army uniforms.
However, the next day, i.e.on February 13, both of them along with other people were taken to the parade ground of 1st Manipur Rifles to participate in signing of MoU with the State and Central government.
The function was attended by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh; Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and other Ministers, they added.
After the function, when they asked the other people present in army uniform, 'What all this was?', they were told that both of them are also part of the MoU Tripartite talk as members of URF.
Since then, they were not allowed to leave the camp and were only released today after threatening them with dire consequences if they disclose the matter to anyone including the media.
