PM reviews two projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the progress of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) project and Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution supply chain management in the State, by means of Pragati video conference today.
According to an official source, the Prime Minister held a meeting with the Chief Secretary and officials of Departments concerned through video conference today at around 3.30 pm.
Water supply schemes to be taken up in and around Imphal City by MAHUD Department under AMRUT scheme were discussed during the meeting.
The source explained that the said scheme will be implemented in the form of three annual action plans.
The Ministry of Urban Development has already approved the plans and has started sanctioning the necessary funds, the source added.
Stating that the scheme is comprised of two components, the source explained that the component of ensuring fresh drinking water for the people will be handled by PHED while creation of public parks and other recreational spots will be taken up by PDA.
A public park each will be constructed at 12 different wards under the IMC, the source mentioned and added that during the meeting, the State Government informed the PM that necessary tender process has begun for selecting the work agency.
Matters regarding distribution of essential items to the poor people as well as establishment of Fair Price Shops under CAF&PD were also discussed during the meeting.
The PM instructed the State Government to expedite seeding of Aadhaar cards and ration cards of the beneficiaries as well, it added.
