Pre -vaccination blood sample collection / vaccination programme

Under the supervision of Dr RK Khogendrajit, Joint Director of Veterinary Department, pre-vaccination blood sample collection cum free Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) & Haemorrhagic Septicaemia (HS)/Black Quarter (BO) vaccination programme was held at 12 different locations of Thoubal and Kakching districts, yesterday.
Speaking to media persons, Dr RK Khogendrajit stated that 25 percent of title work (blood sample collection and vaccination programme) is completed.
A post-vaccination blood collection programme will also be carried out to check if the vaccine administered to cattle is effective or not, said Dr RK Khogendrajit.
He added that the data of the programme is sent directly to the Prime Minister's Office through National Disease Control Programme (NDCP).
He then lauded volunteers of local clubs/NGOs for extending helping hands in carrying out the programme.
The programme aims at controlling FMD and brucellosis by 2025 and eradicating the diseases by 2030 in India, he said and sought support from the cattle rearers to achieve the target on time.
