Training / orientation programme for school safety & security measures organsied

Imphal, November 22 2019:
With a view to equip the teachers and lecturers at the High and Higher Secondary Schools of Manipur as the first line Counsellors and to enable them to guide in events of any disaster, Samagra Shiksha State Implementing Society along with Indian Red Cross Society Manipur State Branch have been organising training cum orientation programmes for school safety and security measures in 25 selected schools from 12 districts of the State.
A press release issued by secretary, IRCS-MSB Imphal stated that various topics were covered during the training programmes including disaster preparedness and rehabilitation, first aid training and counselling, first aid practical session and emergency action and disaster prevention plans.
Master trainers from the Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch visited the schools and imparted the training with necessary equipment for better understanding of the participants, it said and added that the nodal officers from the Directorate of Education (S), Headmasters/Principals and officials from IRCS are joining hands to make the programme a success.
It continued that the training programme were conducted at TG Higher Secondary School, Johnstone Hr Sec School, Residential School, SK Ideal High School, Malom Megha High School, Haoreibi Jr High School, Eastern Ideal High School, Wangkhei High School, Lilong Hr Sec School, Yairipok (aided) High School, Thoudam Leishangthem High School, Moirang Multipurpose Hr Sec School, Ningthoukhong Hr Sec School, Yumbimacha High School and Gandhi Memorial High School etc.
The training, which started from November 16, will continue till November 25, it said and appreciated the support and positive responses from the schools and the Education Department.
