Governor urges successful Swachhta Hi Sewa campaign

Expressing happiness at the launch of the Nation-wide cleanliness campaign 'Swachhta Hi Sewa' on September 15, Governor Dr Najma Heptulla urged the State Government, NGOs and the citizens to undertake 'Shramdaan' for cleanliness, construction of toilets and to make their surroundings free from open defecation .
The Governor, in a press release said this will not only make the people healthy but also help in checking the crimes against women happening in the rural areas .
Cleanliness of public and tourist places should also be high on the priority, it said .
It elaborated that the sole agenda behind the National campaign is to intensify the focus and create an environment of cleanliness across the country in the spirit of a 'Jan Andolan' .
"This cleanliness campaign should be associated with large scale mobilization of public awareness for clean sanitation in all walks of life specially among the poor and underprivileged," she said in the release .
The Governor also expressed confidence that with the active involvement and cooperation of all stakeholders, the campaign 'Swachhta Hi Sewa' in the State will be successful and achieve its set target.
