JD(U) not to attend meetings

JD (U) Manipur unit has said that the party will not attend the meetings of political parties regarding drafting of a new ILPS Bill which according to the party is a delaying tactics of the Government.
Speaking to reporters at their Babupara office, JD (U) State unit president M Tombi said that the party would however attend the meeting when a final decision is to be taken.
Stating Robinhood was a student and nothing was wrong in taking part in the people's agitation, Tombi condemned the police for registering a case against Robinhood.
Maintaining that the Chief Minister must have a clear stand on ILPS implementation, Tombi said that he must not be scared of the Centre as nothing is wrong with the passing of a Bill which would safeguard the indigenous people.
He said that JCILPS had already submitted its five-point demand to the Government on two different occasions.
Saying that the All Political Party had already also submitted its recommendations to the Government, Tombi said that the Government can draft the new Bill by referring to these recommendations and five-point demand of JCILPS.
The Government must understand that JCILPS has denied to hold talks regarding the issue as they have lost faith in Government's promises, he said.
He also demanded the Government to lift the curfew totally, open educational institutes, punish the police personnel responsible for Robinhood's death and resolve the issue at the earliest.
