The identity of a man who was found hanging on a roadside tree near Pearsonmun village here remained unidentified, two days after it was found by farmers, police sources said today.
About 5ft in height, the man believed to be a non-local is suspected to have committed suicide by hanging himself from about thirty feet.
A note, assumed to be a suicide note in Hindi was recovered from his possession but there is nothing to ascertain the individual's identity, said the police.
Soon after removing the body, police have deposited it to RIMS morgue in Imphal.
No one has so far claimed or identified the body.
Meanwhile a three-year-old boy was reportedly drowned at Khuga Dam waters along the neighborhood of Mata Mualtam village at about 11am today.
