Gaan-Ngai celebrated

Chakan Gaan-Ngai was celebrated at Namkaolong village, Langthabal Chingkha today with traditionl dances and music.
General Secretary, UCM W Second, vice president UCM Y Nabachandra, Namkaolong village chief Phaomei Ganguilung and Gangmei Naba were the presidium members of the celebration function.
UCM presented a water tank of 500 litres to the villagers and in return the villagers too presented gifts to the UCM leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, W Second said that Manipur is a state of various communities.
However, small communities in the state are on the verge of extinction due to communalism and disrespect.
He stressed the need to revive traditional customs and cultures for the future generations.
UCM vice president Y Nabakumar said that every community in the state has their own culture and tradition.
All the communities should love and respect one another's culture and tradition with a sense of brotherhood.
No community should try to bring down another community.
Only peaceful coexistence and solidarity will bring development in the state, he said.
