Dance Drama fest from May 21

The three-day first National dance Drama and Ballet Festival entitled 'Tarunkumar Fest' and organised by Progressive Artiste Laboratory (PAL), will be from May 21 to 23 at the Lamboi Khongnang khong complex of PAL.
the festival to be held under the aegis of Ministry of Culture, Govt of India, will feature staging of 'Nongdol Leima' by troupes JN Manipur Dance Academy, 'Chitrangada' by Guwahati-based Darpan group and performance of 'Aavas' by LFCA, Imphal which is said to be an innovative work of Manipuri Dance and Bharat Natyam Kausalya Srinivasan from Chennai.
According to Festival director N Tiken Singh objective of hosting the national level dance drama festival in the State is under the expectation that movement of dance drama would be more extensive and enliven zeal of budding dance choreographers to explore the profession.
Inaugural function of the festival would be held with Uripok AC MLA L Nandakumar Singh and PAL president RK Danisana Singh as the chief guest and functional president respectively while Kakching AC MLA Y Surchandra Singh and Commissioner (Art & culture) RK Nimai Singh would be the guests of honour, said the director.
