Shirui Lily festival from May 16 to 20 : Govt gears up for festival of State flower

Imphal, April 18 2017:
For the first time, Shirui Lily Festival would be celebrated at the State level from May 16 to 20 .
Earlier, the festival was scheduled to be held from May 5 to 9 but a meeting of the organising committee held today at the CM's Secretariat decided to postpone the festival to May 16-20 .
The festival will be opened at IFAD Ground, Shirui village and the closing function will be held at TNL Ground, Ukhrul district headquarters.

Several sub-committees have been constituted in order to ensure that the festival is held successfully.
Around 40 stalls would be opened during the festival which would be organised at the cost of Rs one crore approximately.
The meeting held today decided to hand over the task of maintaining proper sanitation to PHED.
Meanwhile, as declared by Chief Minister N Biren during his visit to Ukhrul district headquarters some days back, repairing of Ukhrul town roads has already started, informed a source.
