Village chiefs express gratitude to Champhai SDO

Champhai Block Village Chiefs' Association (CBVCA), the apex body of all village chief under Champhai Block in Kangpokpi District, expressed gratitude to SDO Champhai for his concerned and sincere commitment in availing Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM KISAN) scheme to the farmers of Champhai Block.
Satmang Kipgen, chairman of Champhai Block Village Chiefs' Association said that 70 per cent of farmers under Champhai Block in Kangpokpi District who had apply for PM KISAN had already got the first instalment of Rs 2000 each directly into their bank accounts within a very short period.
He continued that the farmers applied for the scheme only in December 2019 and most of them received the first instalment right after the New Year 2020 .
Not only the farmer's community but the concerned village chiefs are also satisfied with the work and sincerity of the SDO Champhai, he said.
The apex body also appealed SDO Champhai to help the remaining 30 per cent of farmers in availing the benefits under PM KISAN at the earliest.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi is an initiative by the Government of India in which all small and marginal farmers will get up to Rs 6,000 per year in three instalments as minimum income support to augment the income of the Small and Marginal Farmers (SMFs) .
