Imphal, October 17 2011:
While reiterating its stand for a sovereign Manipur, the proscribed UG group KCP (MC) today urged the people of the state to understand the motive and diplomacy of the India government and called for public participation in the freedom struggle of Manipur.
KCP (MC) in a press release today asserted that Jawaharlal Nehru gave away Kabaw Valley to Myanmar in 1954.More than 30 km of Manipur's land from Molcham and its surrounding villages became part of Myanmar's Shanghai division in 1995 during Indo-Myanmar Friendship liaison.
The decrease in total land area of Manipur from 22,357 sq km in 1991 census to 22,327 sq km in 1995-96 census report is a befitting example of the policy of the India government towards Manipur.
Moreover the 352 km long Manipu-Myanmar border fencing was shortened to 344 km recently, it claimed.
Taking note of the ongoing economic blockades of SHDDC and UNC, the party appealed to the people of the state to abstain from such acts of giving hardships to their brothers when the state is under the oppression of Indian colonial rule.
It further claimed that Shamjetsabam Pradip alias Pandit (26) son of Sh Angou who was apprehended by a combined team of Imphal East Commandos, 24 AR and 23 AR is not a member of KCP (MC).
The US made 9 mm pistol which the combined team recovered from his home was allotted to KCP cadre Wangba which he kept it there due to security problems some days ago before Pradip was arrested.
